YOSEMITE SENTINEL. COMPLETE SET 50 ISSUES. 1975. YOSEMITE PARK AND CURRY COMPANY

What appears to be a complete set of “Yosemite Sentinel” for 1975!!! The complete week-to-week goings on in Yosemite 46 years ago. The Sentinel was published by Yosemite Park and Curry Company for the information of residents of Yosemite National Park. Approximately 11” x 8 1/2”. Usually 4 pages. Here are 50 issues from 1975. There is a gap in the date sequence (June 6 to June 20) but their Volume numbers are sequential, so I believe this is a complete set for the year. But Volume numbers also jump such as July 18 (Vol. XXXII) and July 25 (Vol. XXXXIII) which appears to have been a typo. Also October 24 is Vol. XLVI and October 31 is also Vol. XLVI.  (See scans for examples.) I have not figured out their use of “Vol.” as their numbers increase with each issue but the first issue of 1975 is not “Vol. 1.” (See attached scan of an article about “The Birth of The Sentinel”). I scanned all 4 pages of the first issue of the year to give an idea about the topics covered on a random issue. Then I scanned various covers and pages from a sample of other issues (articles about: Nic Fiore; Bob Barnett’s retirement; article I wrote about John Muir and Ralph Waldo Emerson; article about George Anderson who first climbed Half Dome; article about a party for Shirley Sargent, and much, much more.) NOTE: I have various issues through 1978. I will continue to list all the copies I have for each year as a “lot” on eBay, so please watch for those if interested in what was happening in the Yosemite “community” nearly 50 years ago.
BACKGROUND: The Yosemite Sentinel started in 1941 as a mimeographed newsletter. It became a glossy 4 page publication in 1960. The “last issue” was October 17, 1969. But it was obviously resurrected in 1974, if not before. It is fascinating reading because it included so much current information, but both concession employees as well as NPS. Also covered the ski club (Winter Club), Yosemite school, things people had for sale, courses being offered by Merced College, and the “Community Calendar”. The range is very broad.
