    Description

    SCARCE VINTAGE ITEM!!
    This is USGS Bulletin 1042-G,
Gem Stones of the United States.
Now I hardly have to tell you this is a rare one. I was fortunate to locate this as they are getting harder to find every year. Published in 1957, this 51-page book is a classic. It details minerals such as:
    Diamond
    Emerald
    Ruby and Sapphire
    Beryl
    Chysoberyl
    Feldspars
    Garnet
    Jade
    Lapis lazuli
Quartz including agates and other fine-grained varieties
    Opal
    Spodumene
    Topaz
    Tourmaline
    Turquoise
    And others!
There are some surprising locations in here that with some follow up could reveal some long lost locations. For instance, the table in the back of the book mentions Green Tourmaline occurring near Waynesville, NC. There is also mention of Emerald occurring in Massachusetts! This a just a great book and one any serious mineral collector should have as part of their library. Here is a great opportunity to snag a rare and desirable old report!
Expert packing assured. The recent increase in postage rates was pretty big. As a result, Media Mail is now my default shipping method to keep shipping affordable.
