Description
This item is a souvenir pictorial medal (or token) associated with the 1901 Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York. The 'message' on this item spans both sides and is presented as a rebus - R U A (buffalo image) U (oil can) BET (ewer, pitcher) (donkey, jackass) I AM [to be read: Are you a buffalo? You can bet your ass I am!] The composition is aluminum, with a good toned silver color, and the diameter is approximately 35 mm (1-3/8").
This item is in very fine condition, with fairly light wear, signs of handling, and toning, and it remains bright.
The illustrations in this listing are photos of the actual item being offered for sale, serving as part of the description. NOTE: The actual item has more detail, is much lighter in color (with a good silver color), and is much brighter than is apparent in the photos.
